SmartLF Gx+ is Colortrac's sixth generation of CCD large format scanner and our most innovative and accomplished so far. SmartLF Cx is the market leading CIS wide format scanner worldwide. SmartLF Ci is Colortrac's exciting new, fourth generation CIS wide format scanner.

The company was founded in 1989 to develop digital large format scanning solutions for the Oil exploration industry. Ten years later, in the third quarter of 1999, Colortrac acquired US based ANAtech and Tangent Imaging Systems. The consolidated enterprise benefits from a detailed knowledge base of first-class, patented, wide format scanning technology developed since the early 1980's. The acquisitions significantly strengthened Colortrac capabilities in 2D adaptive thresholding for monochrome images and in closed-loop color calibration technology for large format scan-to-copy and scan-to-print applications. Colortrac continues to focus on product innovation in its mission to expand the market for wide format scanning and large format image processing applications.

In 1999, Colortrac was one of just 80 UK companies that won the prestigious Queen's Award for Export Achievement. The company is located near Cambridge in the UK, a globally recognized centre of excellence for science and computer technology, and has sales and support offices in Beijing China and Chantilly, VA, USA.

The successful launch of the SmartLF 4080 range of large format scanners in September 2004 established Colortrac as the market leader for entry-level CIS scanning technology. In December 2005 Colortrac announced their expansion with the formation of a new Chinese subsidiary, Colortrac Imaging Systems (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. The new company sources components and produces electro-mechanical assemblies for export to the UK where they are combined with UK-manufactured electronics and software to produce finished scanners for sale world-wide.

Colortrac Suzhou is a key element of our growth strategy as we seek to expand manufacturing capacity for the tremendously successful SmartLF large format scanner line. Colortrac Imaging Systems enables Colortrac to fully control all its manufacturing activities, reduces production costs and ensures product quality for our customers.

Colortrac Scanner Products

Colortrac SmartLF large format scanners are ideal for all wide format scanning, archiving, copying and printing jobs across the range of large format scanning applications for sheet-feed paper documents and flat, mounted originals up to 0.8" (20mm) thickness.

Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ and Gx+ T28 and 42 scan wide images from 28" to 42". At 1200 dpi they have the highest optical resolution of any CCD technology scanner on the market today. A Colortrac designed bi-directional LED light system instead of the fluorescent tubes found in traditional CCD scanners gives them all the benefits of CCD scanners but without the downsides. Gx+ 28 and 42 scanners have USB and Gigabit Ethernet support and are our fastest scanners to date at 12ips monochrome and up to 4ips color. Gx+ T28 and 42 motorized thick media models scan media up to 0.8" (20 mm) thickness.

Colortrac SmartLF Gx+ and Gx+ T56 scan extra wide images up to 56". The six models are the widest scanners on the market today and, like the 28 and 42" models, include a Colortrac designed instant-on, environmentally friendly bi-directional LED light system. Gx+ 56 scanners have USB and Gigabit Ethernet support and 600 dpi monochrome, color and express color scanning. Gx+ T56 motorized thick media models scan media up to 0.8" (20 mm) thickness.

Colortrac SmartLF Cx 40 scans 40" wide images at a breakthrough price with three models using the latest CIS technology for 600 dpi high speed monochrome, color and express color large format scanning. USB2.

Colortrac SmartLF Ci builds on the success of the Cx 40 at 24" and 40" with six models using innovative face-up, front exit single roller paper transport and bright bi-directional LED illumination. Ci scanners have USB and Gigabit Ethernet support and even faster 600 dpi monochrome, color and express color CIS wide format scanning.

Colortrac Software Products

Software is a vital component of any large format scanner system and Colortrac provides a range of standard and optional scan-to-file and scan-to-print applications.

SmartLF software is the ideal solution for first time and occasional users of large format scanners. All SmartLF wide format scanners are supplied complete with this software that supports batch scan-to-file, scan-to-copy and scan-to-email operations. Supports the most commonly used JPG, PDF, PNG and TIFF image file formats.

ScanWorks software employs a scan-it-once 'right first time' workflow that allows complete control of the scanning process.

CopySmart connects any of Colortrac's large format scanners and its PC to a large format printer giving you have a digital copy system. This software creates a multi-function scan / copy / print system maximizing the utilization of your investment and large format scanner and printer equipment.

ISIS TM (Image and Scanner Interface Specification) is a technology for connecting high-speed document scanners to electronic document management (EDM) systems and for professional electronic document capture (EDC) applications.
